Hello!
Today's blog is going to be a little customer service rant. I have worked in many jobs that require customer service. And its not the work that's awful (well maybe a little) Its the customers approach to us aliens that work to serve them. We have self serve terminals that only take card. The amount of people who don't read signs or listen to us when we tell them is incredible. Then they turn around to abuse us and carry on like children because they can't have there way.
Basically, working in customer service you meet every type of person in the world. And I mean EVERYBODY!
From the kind little old lady to the crabby old bitch. The middle aged men who are patient but really just want to get in and out. The mother with all the kids who thought it would be a good idea to do all by herself and then tells us off for not giving enough personal assistance. The people who want something for nothing and will argue until the cows come home. And lets not forget the kind people who are grateful when you assist them and thank you for it afterward. They are the most important people, they stop you from loosing your mind and help you get through the rest of your shift.
So please people next time you go shopping, give the workers a smile and a thank you. It lets them know that everything will be okay, for both of you.
And lastly I have been stockpiling things that I have wanted to say to rude customers but can't so I have decided to dedicate a page to it.
Eg: "Sorry sir, are you a scarecrow? Because I'm pretty sure you don't have a brain."
You get the picture.
Until next time, stay happy
Olivia
